Some Kind of Enchanted

Tuesday, June 14th, 2011

She calls me “CheeseJane”

Even though I never tell her “Say Cheese”

She really likes me.

I really like her.

She really isn’t a huge fan of having her picture taken.

I really am a huge fan of taking her picture.

We make it work.

It’s some kind of enchantment we have together.

It works. :)

Come Grow With Me

Sunday, June 12th, 2011

I met Miss Emily this past October when her whole family had a session with me to celebrate her grandparent’s anniversary.

I was instantly hooked on her sweet smile and easy going personality. I think I told her at least ten times that she makes my job easy and I *know* I could photograph her for hours.

So, when Mom asked me to do Emily’s one year birthday pictures…well, um, that is a no brainer, right?

She looks at me with those eyes and puddles of Jane begin to form on the ground. Oh, I just adore her!

Don’t you?

Thanks for sharing your sweetness with me Miss Emily, I love watching you grow!

P.S. Do you see the Alaine Sheeley Designs shirt? Everyone who books a birthday session gets one…you know you want to see your child in one too! :)

Sharing the Passion

Saturday, June 11th, 2011

Connor has been asking me for weeks now for camera lessons. The other night the light and the time was right, so I loaded him up with my back up camera and loaded Maddie up with my point and shoot and we learned all about composition and focus…

Connor couldn’t get over the joy of hearing the shutter click and he loved thinking of creative shots to take in our back yard.

Madeline got in on the action too with her pink point and shoot.

And I, of course, can not resist her…

Or the blueberries…or my amazing husband….

I taught the kids about finding interesting details to photograph…like this horse hitch post in our neighborhood (yes, it is for horse and buggies!)

It was so much fun, goofing around with my kids, teaching them about composition, light and focus. It was heartwarming to hear their questions about my passion and understanding when I explained things to them.

But for me the best part of the night was this moment right here:
